This technology covers frame design, manufacturing processes, materials and development through input from some of the world’s top pro cyclists. Particularly the XTC and Anthem X models in Giant’s Advanced SL composite material will give any athlete that extra edge through its light weight, reliability and outright performance without sacrificing the comfort cyclists need when staying focused is vital.
The heart of these frames consists of T-800 carbon sheets produced by Giant themselves which is hand cut into over 500 swaths ready to form the different components. From here the process is closely guarded and frankly too complex for mere cycling enthusiasts to comprehend.
Suffice it to say the end product is not that off your average milling machine. The way oversize head tube – OverDrive – increases the steering stiffness tremendously while allowing for a way oversize top and down tube- MegaDrive- increasing power transfer and reducing weight. –PowerCore- provides extra stiffness around the BB interface without adding material. The list goes on……..
