On Saturday at the 10th Totalsports Challenge Team Contego/Giant's Louis-Bresler Knipe and Eddie Lamberts won the Terra Firma for two man teams. They were up against some strong competition in the form of Lieuwe Boonstra and Dawid Visser. In the end they won with more than a minute.

Louis-Bresler started the day with the 50km from Gordon's Bay to Kleimond on his road bike. He had some troubles when his chain fell off, but got back into the action without any real damaged being done. He was first into transition followed by four time Xterra World champion Conrad Stoltz. "It was an amazing experience riding with Conrad. It was something special."

Eddie was passed by Dawid Visser on the 13km road run to Arabella, and Louis-Bresler was a minute behind Lieuwe Boonstra with the start of the 25km mountain bike. "I enjoyed the mountain bike route. It was hard and challenging. I caught up with Lieuwe and was able to pass him and give Eddie a minute lead for the 9km beach run. I must admit though that if the route wasn't as hard and challenging…what mountain biking is all about, I would not have been able to pass Lieuwe."
Eddie, who just came back after a serious injury, kept his lead to make sure that this time around Team Contego stands on top of the winner's podium. After the disappointment of last year when there was some confusion at the transition and Team Contego had to settle for a second place, winning it this time around was a priceless experience.
"Not only did we make up for the disappointment, we were able to win against some really strong competition. That made the victory so much sweeter."
Next on the calendar for the Team is the coming weekend's road race the Cape Cobra.
