Team Contego strives to challenge the norm when it comes to sponsorship. It doesn’t stop at being a financial contributor, but encourages the growth of every rider with management, advice and strategic planning. Riders are supported to work hard, respect the sport and reach their personal goals. Being a mountain biker can be “fun and games” but Contego promotes being a exceptional, successful one that can serve as an example for all.
The general Mission of the Team is two-fold. Firstly it is to create a team of high performance mountain bike riders to compete at a wide spectrum of events – local, national and international. Professional planning, management and support will ensure the competing riders can perform at their best at these events to reach personal goals as well as giving dually exposure to the team and sponsors involved.
The second part of the mission is to identify and invest in the youth and development riders. They are the future stars of mountain biking and the Team creates the opportunity for these riders to be part of a structured environment within the sport. These riders not only have the opportunity to learn from their professional team mates but also gets educated in ‘off the bike’ subjects including teamwork, dealing with sponsors and media exposure.
